Do you want a new website?

Websites from First Ideas are designed to meet your needs. To make life easier, we provide some typical configurations as a starting point. For example, the "brochure" is a 5-page website and is about the right size for many small companies. The "flier" is a 1-page website; great for the sole-trader just starting up.

updates

We can update the content of your website for you (see below) or provide an on-line editor so you can make changes to the content yourself. Consider having a News Page that will encourage people to re-visit your site.

Does your company have a leaflet?

Quite often, a new company or individual going onto the internet for the first time may well already have a leaflet or handout. We are very happy to take one of these and make it the starting point for a website. It is low cost and makes those first step as easy as possible.

Maybe update your existing website (make-over)?

If you already have a website, and would like to give it a fresh look or add new features, please get in touch.

We normally charge a nominal £15 per page per year to cover basic updates to your website. This means that throughout the year you can email us with minor changes to the text and will will update your site, usually within a day or two. This service is fairly basic and does not cover adding new pages or features.

design

We need to know what you want your website to look like. It is very helpful to show us a website that you like the look of. Not to copy (obviously!) but to get an idea of the look and feel you are after. We will produce something similar for you to look at and comment on and will be happy to make a reasonable number of adjustments for you.

This technique is called 'designing on the fly' and is great for small websites that do not require exacting and precise design and layout work and allows us to keep your costs down.

For websites that do require precise design and layout work, then designing on the fly doesn't work. If you know what you want, then you need to produce a detailed specification to describe what you're after. Our costings will be based on that.
