Our hosting packages for our websites are a flat annual cost. No hidden fees. Dependant on the complexities and size of your business we may suggest a bigger hosting plan for larger websites. These computers are called servers and they “host” websites; hence the name hosting to refer to the whole system. They’re different from an ordinary desktop computer in that they’re usually located in a secure building, very powerful, have huge capacity, backed up continuously, protected against viruses and other cyber attacks, and are built to be operational the whole time. A server is an industrial strength computer which hosts your website.
Simply put – a domain is an address such as www.firstideas.co.uk or www.amazon.com – allowing you to identify and locate a website or send/receive email at that address, such as howard@firstideas.co.uk or support@amazon.com. We can register a domain for you (in your name of course) or you can register it yourself. Technically, it makes no difference. Once registered, then the domain can be used for your website and email.
