Four miles over the county line, on the Ridgeway
My strange confession as a Wiltshire-based web designer: most of my best-known small-business work is in Oxfordshire. I built and run Wantage.com - 1,100+ listings for the town's businesses and groups - the Wantage & Grove Food Bank site, a glazing firm in the Hanneys, a landscaper, artists and suppliers across the Vale of White Horse. I live just over the county line in Ogbourne St George, on the Ridgeway.
So if you're an Oxfordshire business looking for someone who'll build your website, run it, and answer the phone when you call: £30 a month, everything included, and you see a free preview before you pay anything.
- gordon@firstideas.co.uk or WhatsApp.
of your new website and send you the link.
Yes: we finish it and go live, £30 a month from then on. No: it cost you nothing.
The plan includes bespoke design, every page you need, custom forms, galleries, email at your own domain, UK hosting, your domain name, SSL, daily backups and every day-to-day change - the full list is here. Online shops and bespoke systems are quoted separately, fixed and in writing.
Most work happens by email and phone, so Banbury is as easy as Wantage. I work with businesses in and around:
Wantage · Grove · Abingdon · Didcot · Faringdon · Oxford · Witney · Wallingford · Henley · Banbury
- and the villages between. The Vale of White Horse end of the county gets the option of meeting in person; there's a dedicated page for Wantage.
The gallery runs the whole range. At one end: food banks, glaziers, landscapers, artists, village organisations. At the other: healthcare and telehealth platforms, a multilingual launch site for a global gaming project, and the town platform with 1,100+ listings. Same desk, same standards. If your Oxfordshire business needs a shop, a booking system or something nobody's built before, that's quoted work - fixed, in writing, before anything starts.

Agencies in the county generally quote on enquiry; UK guides put a small-business build at £800–£3,000 upfront from a freelancer and £2,000–£6,000 from a regional agency, plus hosting and maintenance. Mine is published: £30 a month, all-in, preview first.
I'm four miles over the county line, and half my work is Oxfordshire already. For a website it makes no difference; for a coffee it's a short drive.
Your domain and your content are yours, always - and if you ever leave, they go with you, with a full copy of your files.
No. Rolling monthly, no minimum term - cancel whenever you like.
Yes, lots - the food bank is the best-known, and there's a page of charity work.
Every site is built so Google and the AI assistants can read and cite it - structure, speed, schema, Search Console - as standard, not as an upsell.
Your business name is enough.
